One of the most beautiful destinations in the world and some of the richest culture (not to mention the friendliest people!) you may ever come across. Your travels through Ireland will quickly become some of your favorites, especially if you follow these tips and must-dos while you are there!

My name is Janelle and I lived in Dublin, Ireland for 4 months while I was studying abroad at Trinity College Dublin.

I made an effort to live like a local, travel around the city and the rest of the country on the weekends, and talk to as many new people there as I possibly could! I chose Ireland as my study-abroad country mainly because I had grown up competitively Irish dancing. I already knew I loved the culture, I had just never made it over there yet.

Now I want to share with you my best-kept secrets and advice for experiencing Ireland like a local, so you can make the most out of visiting or living abroad in Ireland!

Summer (June-August) – is the warmest and rains the least but you will have the most crowds.

Hotels, hostels, vacation rentals, and house sitting are all available in Ireland for accommodation. My top recommendations for each are:

🚘 Should You Rent a Car in Ireland?
I always tell my friends and family to rent a car in Ireland so that they don’t miss out on the gorgeous scenery and wonderful things to do in between the big cities! However, if you plan to stay only in the cities, then you should be fine getting by with buses and walking.
