FLIGHTS &
TRANSPORTATION RESOURCES

airplane, airport, traveler, luggage, flying

#1 – Scott’s Cheap Flights (Now Called “Going”)

This is a FREE service. Joining Scott’s Cheap Flights email list will give you flight deals and price drops from your home airport sent directly to your email inbox.

This service is perfect for the spontaneous, budget traveler who doesn’t necessarily have a destination in mind (though you can always keep an eye out for your ideal destination!).

I once had a friend book a spontaneous trip to Australia from Los Angeles because the roundtrip flight was under $500!

#2 – Skyscanner

Another FREE flight search engine. I mainly use Skyscanner to set up flight alerts for fare drops or just to browse.

My favorite feature of Skyscanner is “explore everywhere”. If you have a week for vacation, you could search everywhere to find what the cheapest flights are across the world that week. I love finding inspiration from Skyscanner!

#3 – Discover Cars

A global car rental company that pulls quotes from multiple local rental car services to find you the best deals.

Check out this awesome testimonial I received about Discover Cars!

#1 – Hostelworld

I love staying in hostels when I travel, especially during my first week in a new city. I think hostels are the easiest place to meet other like-minded travelers. Plus, nowadays hostels aren’t just for young people with many catering to adventurers or remote workers too.

Hostelworld is the biggest hostel finder in the world and is always my go-to for reliable information and reviews.

#2 – Hotels.com | Expedia | Booking.com

All three sites are excellent for finding and booking deals on hotels, resorts, villas, etc.

#3 – TrustedHousesitters

*Great for budget digital nomads*

With TrustedHousesitters you can find stays across the world where you will take care of someone’s house or pets in return for FREE lodging. There is an annual fee, but if you plan on using this service for more than 2-3 nights per year then it is well worth it!

#4 – Anyplace

*Great for digital nomads*

Anyplace provides fully furnished apartments with flexible leases across the world. They specifically cater to digital nomads and people who want a flexible travel lifestyle. Their “Anyplace Select” plan is designed for remote workers who want work-friendly apartments already set up and ready for move-in.

#1 – Viator

Viator provides guided tours, private and group bookings, and tickets for the must-see attractions wherever you are visiting. I have found a few unique tours and many affordable tours for the top sights I want to see on my international trips (like this Cliffs of Moher tour in Ireland).

#2 – Get Your Guide

Very similar to Viator, but another great option to find activities and tours.

RESOURCES FOR NEW TRAVEL BLOGGERS

#1 – Scale Your Travel Blog to 6-Figures

Scale Your Travel Blog is a course by Mike and Laura Travel that is designed to get your travel blog up and running quickly and making money with proven SEO strategies. This is the course I used to start my own travel blog and I very highly recommend Laura to anyone who is serious about starting their travel blog in the right way.

There are many blogging courses out there, but Laura specifically works with travel bloggers and she started her blog more recently than some of the well-known older travel bloggers (meaning she knows how to monetize in the current blogging world). She has a very straightforward and detailed teaching style and will help you with every step of the blogging process, which is rare for most blogging courses!

She has a free course as well called “Travel Blogging Success” that you can start with before committing to the full course.

#2 – Bluehost

If you are thinking about starting a travel blog or are ready to get started on one, the first thing you will need is web hosting. This is where your blog will live online, where you can register a domain, and where you can get into WordPress to start designing and posting on your blog.

Bluehost is the most popular web hosting platform for bloggers because it is very affordable and reliable.

Beautiful world map watch from Dorsya

Dorsya is a line of women’s travel jewelry that my boyfriend discovered for me and I absolutely LOVE! I had been wanting a world map watch but couldn’t find one I liked enough and that fit my wrist (literally the smallest wrists ever!). He got me the rose gold Carte du Monde watch and it is SO perfect!
