Is Long Beach Safe at Night?

Long Beach, like any city, has areas with varying levels of safety. Most areas that tourists would visit, such as the downtown and waterfront areas, are generally considered safe. I recommend avoiding areas such as the Westside and North Long Beach near Compton.

It’s always a good practice to take common-sense precautions, such as staying in well-populated areas, using well-lit streets, and staying with a buddy when you’re out at night.

No, it’s not.
However, it’s always recommended to have travel insurance any time you travel in case of injury, accident, lost luggage, missed flight, etc. The best and most affordable travel/expat insurance is Safety Wing. It covers some medical as well, which is important in the U.S. due to the high cost of health care.
